Disposable tableware is the solution to many family emergencies. What wife has not been surprised by the visit of her husband’s family on a Saturday morning coming for lunch because he invited them and forgot to tell her? They are made of white foam so they can be used in any occasion. They too have a problem though, they do not take kindly to you cutting anything on them. Even a plastic knife, if it not used gently and with care will tear a hole through the plate. As long as no knife play is involved they will work fine.

The third and final option is plastic, plastic tableware will hold the liquids, and will also resist the knife. You can buy them in different thicknesses, so when you do purchase them make sure they are the thick resistant kind.  They come in many different colors and styles so you can pick anything that matches with the rest of the decoration or just plain white ones.

Plastic even though it is a bit more expensive is your best option because it can handle the wear and tear. Make sure when you make your purchase that you buy a little more than what is needed. This applies especially to cups and plastic glasses because people tend to leave their cups behind and get a new one almost every time they want another drink. Disposable tableware is probably people’s best friend when they are tired and do not want to clean or wash dishes or glasses. It is always a good idea to keep a couple of packages at home for emergencies or for those days when you do not feel like doing anything.
